This resort has a rich history, originally built by Godfrey Barnsley as a gift to his wife. One fun tradition couples love is the “Bury the Bourbon” ritual. This is where you bury a bottle of bourbon before your wedding (it’s supposed to keep the rain away), then on the wedding day you dig it up and share it during your celebration. It is a fun southern tradition the Barnsley Resort honors. The Barnsley Resort is also pet friendly so your furry friends are welcome to stay with you the whole weekend and are allowed to be a part of the wedding day festivities!
