Bachelorette Activities That Don’t Involve Alcohol

As I am writing this blog post, I only have 2 days left in dry January. My husband and I do dry January every year as a way to re-focus and re-center ourselves as we begin the new year. We have seen many benefits after three consecutive years of doing it in both our mental and physical health. Even our bank account has seen an improvement! You never realize how much of your life and your weekends revolve around alcohol until you give it up for a period of time.

This made me think- what are some fun bachelorette activities that don’t involve drinking? Not everyone on a bachelorette trip will want to or be able to drink. As an event planner, I have been asked to create an alcohol-free bach weekend before. Here are some of the most fun activities that I would encourage you to look into if you are planning an alcohol-free bachelorette weekend!

Candle Making Class

What girl doesn’t love a great smelling candle? Whenever I go to Marshalls or Home Goods, I make a beeline to the candle aisle to snag as many 3-wick soy candles as possible. Many major cities have small businesses that offer “make your own” candle classes. One of these businesses is Hummingbird Candle Co. located in Fayetteville and Asheville, NC. They provide a super fun and engaging experience for their customers as they create their very own Eco-Lux candle. Their eco-luxe candles are coconut oil based, paraben free, phthalate free, vegan and sustainable. Each of your guests can create their own signature scent and will have a unique souvenir to take home after the bach weekend is over!

Yoga or Exercise Class

A yoga or exercise class is a great way to start your day on a positive note and get those endorphins flowing! From spin, to barre, to pole dancing the options are endless to choose from! One type of exercise you may have not thought of before is goat yoga. If your trip is in Chattanooga, Moser Manor Farms offers goat yoga at various points throughout the year. Located in Hixson, TN this family owned and operated farm has tons to offer from farm fresh eggs to event spaces to goat yoga. Did you know that goat cuddles are proven to reduce anxiety and increase dopamine levels? Plus it makes for a super cute photo opportunity with you and all of your girls! They offer private classes for 10 or more people at $35 per person. Not traveling to Chattanooga for your bachelorette? Goat yoga is offered all over the United States from GA, to AL, NC, IL and more!

Make Your Own Bouquet

“I can buy myself flowers, I can hold my own hand…” Please tell me I’m not the only one who has the new Miley Cyrus song stuck in their head on repeat? Just like candles, who doesn’t love a beautiful bouquet of flowers? You can approach this idea in two different ways. Option #1 is to do a more DIY flower arrangement class at your Airbnb. You can buy different types of flowers from Trader Joes or another local grocery store and each girl can assemble their own unique bouquet at the house. The second option is to sign up for a floral design workshop! Many cities have flower shops that offer classes like this including here in Chattanooga. The very well known Joli Jardin flower shop offers floral design workshops where you can learn from the pros on how to create the perfect floral arrangement.

Spa Day

Often times, bachelorette weekends can leave you tired and worn out, but this doesn’t have to be the case! Spend a relaxing afternoon at the spa and you will come back from your bachelorette weekend feeling rested and rejuvenated. No matter where your bachelorette destination is, there is bound to be a spa that can offer you and your girls all the pampering you need! I am planning a bachelorette in Asheville which is home to one of the best spas I know- the spa at the Omni Gove Park Inn. This spa has tons of services to choose from including facials, body treatments, massages and pedicures. Each girl can choose a service that fits into their budget and enjoy good conversation and food while resting and relaxing.

Cooking Class

If you have never been to a cooking class before, you are missing out! My husband and I went to one for the first time last year and we both agreed it was our favorite activity we have ever done together! They are fun, engaging and a great team building activity. Oftentimes, not everyone on the bachelorette trip will know each other. A cooking class is a great activity to get everyone involved and working together towards a shared purpose. One local business that offers top-notch cooking classes is The Sweet & Savory Classroom. Their classes help broaden your knowledge and skills in the kitchen and build your confidence in the kitchen. There are cooking classes offered in all major cities, so it is definitely worth checking it out and adding to your bachelorette weekend itinerary!

Although most bachelorette trips revolve around drinking, they don’t have to! Not all brides want a liquor-centered weekend and that is okay! I hope I was able to provide you with some fun and memorable activities for your next bachelorette trip! Which activity do you want to try and why?
